This special Chocolate has been made in the the Baroque town of Modica in Sicily since the Spanish, returning from the new world, introduced the Aztec tradition of chocolate-production to the area. Worked by hand, modica chocolate is intensely flavored and has a unique granular texture due to the lower quantity of cocoa butter. Modica chocolate is traditionally produced in several flavors: Vanilla, Chili Pepper, and Cinnamon.
